Would GB members succumb to financial temptation?
by TJ - iAmCleared2Land inthere have been many threads about how to "bring down" the wt organization.
the conversation usually ends with the realization that a large religious organization is usually fairly self-sustaining, due to the believer's vested interests in preserving their "illusion", and the fact that the gb and long-term bethel members have nothing to fall back on--no retirement, no place to live, no skills.. so... do you think that any gb members would succumb to the temptation of a large financial reward (millions) to "give up the ruse" and "come out" with the truth about "the truth"?
say, if offered $5m, a nice place to live, etc., would any of them give up bethel life and come forward like franz did, spilling the beans?.

Do they still have power and control? Or has that been wrested away to the corporations? Are the GB more a symbol now, rather than any true power in the org?

Yeah, but if any of them WERE having doubts, feeling trapped, with no way out, no options... could it be the carrot that leads them away?

There have been many threads about how to "bring down" the WT organization. The conversation usually ends with the realization that a large religious organization is usually fairly self-sustaining, due to the believer's vested interests in preserving their "illusion", and the fact that the GB and long-term Bethel members have nothing to fall back on--no retirement, no place to live, no skills.
So... do you think that any GB members would succumb to the temptation of a large FINANCIAL reward (millions) to "give up the ruse" and "come out" with the truth about "the truth"? Say, if offered $5M, a nice place to live, etc., would any of them give up Bethel life and come forward like Franz did, spilling the beans?
Or do they "believe it" themselves, hook line and sinker, to the point where their pride or "faithfulness" would make them reject any financial temptation?
Further, if half or more of the GB "gave it up" and "came out", do you think it would cause a mass exodus?

Elder wants to come for shepherding call
by 2pink inwe are newly fading (actually, mostly disappearing).
i haven't been to meetings in about 3 months maybe and hubby hasn't gone in a month or more.
i certainly don't plan on returning, hubby is still undecided.. anyway, an elder called and wants to come do a shepherding call.

Either use the 'depressed' / 'stressed' / 'not in a place to meet with you right now' routine (highly effective), or if you want to mess with their schedule / time a bit, make an appointment but don't be there.... leave a note on the door 'sorry, had to go to the doctor on short notice, didn't have your cell #.' Even more fun is to be home-but-hiding when they do this. When they call back, rinse and repeat. They will eventually leave you alone if you make it difficult to meet in person.

I told my wife I will start pioneering next month ...
by Albert Einstein in... if she will prove me from the bible accuracy of 1914. and i stressed i really mean it.. we had one of the usual evening discussions and this was the result.. she said she is not ready for this and must do some preparation and aditional study (which is funny for somebody raised up in a hard-core jw family, baptized over 25 years, who spent over a decade in regular pioneering, reads wt for hours every week and have brought several people into jw cult...).
but ok, she pulled out several publications and is doing her preparation now and tonight we will have the discussion.. to motivate her i told her:.
1) if you will be succesfull i will go to preach to everybody in our street about 1914/607 during my pioneering.

And she concluded: "But I cant help myself it must be the truth, because nobody else makes such nice magazines..."
Tell her you're going to join the Holy House of Heffner, based on that advice.

2010 Year's text is taken from 1 Cor. 13: 7, 8. Last part of verse 7 and the first part of verse 8. "Love endures all things. Love never fails."
Seems we've had that before--within the last 20 years. Does anybody know of a historical list of the year-text's for each year? I couldn't find one via Google search.

how to the dubs explain away the dino's?
by highdose inhttp://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-1223244/colossal-sea-monster-unearthed-eaten-t-rex-breakfast.html.
you can't ignore this, yet there is nothing about it in the bible.
i noticed that the jw's seem to just brush over it, since they clearly can't explain it away or pretend its false!.

Don't need to explain them away! Jesus rode them, after all! Well, "he probably did".
